Description

Enjoy a tender, juicy, and perfectly seared filet mignon cooked in air fryer. This foolproof recipe delivers steakhouse-quality results at home with minimal effort and time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 filet mignon steaks (1.52 inches thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Pat the filet mignon steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. Brush the steaks lightly with olive oil or melted butter on all sides.
  4. Season both sides of the filet mignon generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if desired.
  5. Place the steaks in the air fryer basket, ensuring there is space around them for proper air circulation.
  6. Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, flipping halfway through.
  7. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness:
    • Rare: 125°F
    • Medium-Rare: 130°F
    • Medium: 140°F
  8. Once done, remove the steaks from the air fryer and let them rest on a plate for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
  9. Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • For even cooking, let the steaks come to room temperature (about 30 minutes) before air frying.
  • If you prefer a crispier crust, preheat the air fryer for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Always use a meat thermometer for accuracy, as overcooking can dry out the filet mignon.
  • Serve with sides like garlic mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, or a simple salad for a complete meal.
