Description
Enjoy a tender, juicy, and perfectly seared filet mignon cooked in air fryer. This foolproof recipe delivers steakhouse-quality results at home with minimal effort and time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 filet mignon steaks (1.5–2 inches thick)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh rosemary or thyme (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
- Pat the filet mignon steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Brush the steaks lightly with olive oil or melted butter on all sides.
- Season both sides of the filet mignon generously with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if desired.
- Place the steaks in the air fryer basket, ensuring there is space around them for proper air circulation.
- Cook the steaks for 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, flipping halfway through.
- Use a meat thermometer to check doneness:
- Rare: 125°F
- Medium-Rare: 130°F
- Medium: 140°F
- Once done, remove the steaks from the air fryer and let them rest on a plate for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
- Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme before serving, if desired.
Notes
- For even cooking, let the steaks come to room temperature (about 30 minutes) before air frying.
- If you prefer a crispier crust, preheat the air fryer for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Always use a meat thermometer for accuracy, as overcooking can dry out the filet mignon.
- Serve with sides like garlic mashed potatoes, roasted asparagus, or a simple salad for a complete meal.
