- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your favorite blend)
- 1 sheet ready-made jalousie pastry (or puff pastry)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Fresh herbs (parsley or basil) for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, oregano, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then sear the chicken for 2 minutes per side until lightly browned.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the jalousie pastry.
- Place the chicken in the center of the pastry and evenly sprinkle the shredded cheese over it.
- Carefully fold the pastry over the chicken, ensuring the edges are well sealed.
- Transfer the wrapped chicken onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastry turns golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh herbs, and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
