    1. 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    2. 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your favorite blend)
    3. 1 sheet ready-made jalousie pastry (or puff pastry)
    4. 1 tablespoon olive oil
    5. Salt, to taste
    6. Pepper, to taste
    7. 1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
    8. 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
    9. Fresh herbs (parsley or basil) for garnish

 


Instructions

 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, oregano, and paprika.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then sear the chicken for 2 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes.
  5. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the jalousie pastry.
  6. Place the chicken in the center of the pastry and evenly sprinkle the shredded cheese over it.
  7. Carefully fold the pastry over the chicken, ensuring the edges are well sealed.
  8. Transfer the wrapped chicken onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pastry turns golden and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh herbs, and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
